Privacy Policy

The short version
We collect what we need to train you, certify you, and keep a copy of your certificate, nothing more. We never sell your information. Your card details go straight to Stripe and never touch our servers. The one sharing built into the product: if you tell us who your board secretary is, we send them a copy of your certificate, because the association is required to keep proof of your certification on file.
What we collect
- Account: name, email, password (stored hashed), and, if you provide them, phone number and mailing address for your certificate.
- Your board: your association, your position on it, and the name and email of your board secretary if you give them to us, so we can send your certificate on for the association’s file.
- Learning activity: course progress, time spent on lessons, knowledge-check answers, and sign-ins. We use this to issue certificates honestly, improve the course, and help you if you get stuck.
- Payments: handled by Stripe. We keep a record of what was paid and when; we never see or store card numbers.
- Waitlist and support: your email if you join the waitlist, and whatever you send us when you contact support.
How we use it
- To provide the service: run your courses, issue and verify certificates, keep your copy, and process payments.
- To send transactional email: receipts, certificates, and renewal reminders. Reminders are on by default and you can turn them off any time in My info.
- To improve the courses, using aggregated learning activity (for example, which lesson people replay most).
- To respond when you contact us.
We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not use third-party advertising trackers.
Who can see your information
- Your board secretary (if you name one): they receive a copy of your certificate for the association’s records, along with your name and the course you completed.
- Certificate verification: anyone with your certificate’s verification link can see your name, the course, and the certificate’s status. That public check is what makes the certificate trustworthy.
- Service providers that run the platform under contract: Stripe (payments), Supabase (database and authentication), Vercel (hosting), Resend (email delivery), and Google Analytics (site usage measurement). They process data for us, not for their own use.
- Legal requirements: we disclose information if the law requires it.
Cookies
We use two kinds of cookies. Essential cookies keep you signed in and secure. Analytics cookies (Google Analytics) help us understand how visitors use the site, such as which guides get read, and we use that only to improve it. No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
How long we keep it
Certificates exist to be durable, because Florida boards need to prove certification years later, so we keep them while your account exists. If you close your account, we delete your personal information except what we must keep for legal, tax, or record-integrity reasons (for example, the fact that a certificate was issued and later revoked stays verifiable).
Your choices
- Edit your profile information any time in My info.
- Turn off reminder emails in My info; transactional emails (receipts, certificates) still send.
- Ask us to export or delete your data: info@boardcomply.co.
Children
The service is for adults serving on association boards; it is not directed to anyone under 18.
